My first drafts
I have no idea if this is the way that I want to go with this. I am not sure that I want to use this font. I'm not sure about the arrows. I feel like something is missing. But this is more an experiment than a rough draft. I know everyone has their style and this is definitely something that is characteristic of my work. But, since this project is going to be in an art show, I really want to push my boundaries, push me out of my comfort zone. I think that doing that will make my work better.
research
I am already in the process of doing research. I got laid off so I have a lot of time on my hands.
Sasquatch Posters from previous years
I admit that I was really nervous about making a poster for the festival. But, by looking critically at the past Sasquatch Posters, I calmed down. There are some that I liked more than others, but on the whole I think most people did a decent job. Here are some of my favorites:
New Project
Hi
It's been a while since I have even looked at this blog. I wanted to share some exciting (for me anyway) news. I have been invited to create a poster for a band participating in the Sasquatch Music Festival in Washington State. According to the Sasquatch Poster Curator:
Invite a select group of graphic designers to produce limited edition “artist feature”posters for the Sasquatch! Music Festival at The Gorge. Why? To support, invigorate, and create opportunities for the burgeoning poster design community."

My poster will be posted around the Seattle area. It will also be included in the Sasquatch Poster art show and added to the 2009 Poster Gallery on the Sasquatch website. I am going to need all the feedback I can get on my poster design. This will be great exposure for me and I want to take full advantage of this unique opportunity.
